April 8, 2014, House Bill 881 was approved by the House and Senate in the state of Maryland. This bill required the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the Natalie M. LaPrade Medical Marijuana Commission to develop regulations for an approved patient to register, receive ID cards and set standards for Physicians to be licensed, and fees associated. What does this mean for the patient or caregiver of patient? Dr. Hancock will go over necessary steps for patient and caregivers the process in detail at the time of your consult. The process requires and patient or caregiver to submit an application form to the MMCC Registry website located HERE. MMCC will review your application. Once approved, the patient or caregiver must obtain valid written certification from our licensed MD to purchase medical cannabis. Please note, without written consent and approval from a licensed Physician, one will not be able to purchase medical cannabis.
